Influenza Virus
Influenza Virus (Fused Glass)
Symbolic image of the Influenza virus showing eight rna molecules within, a circle of membrane proteins, four neuraminidase (each with four subunits, on the surface,) and four hemagluttinin (each with three red subunits, on the surface.) Four IgG antibodies are depicted, each binding to one of the surface hemagluttinins.
“Influenza Virus” was commissioned by a young MD (anonymous) at Boston’s Childrens Hospital, Harvard Medical School, as a gift to someone special who did research on antibodies against influenza hemagluttinins.
